Beware! What you are about to read, is not done by me. However, it is done by Xue Yong. He searched deeper to the meaning of having the fear of Lord in our lives. :)What does the fear of the Lord means?
From Proverbs1:7, the fear of the lord is the foundation of our intimacy with God.
To fear God, it is to treasure his commands. This means, it is to incline our ears to his word with total readiness to obey no matter what are the circumstances.
Yet when we lose the fear of the lord we reduce him to our level and subconsciously think we can hide thing from him. Proverbs15:3
Pride and fear of the oppose each other.
When there is pride, we will be deceived is to believe you are right when you are wrong.
To prevent deception, it is found in the fear of the Lord.
When we fear God, we should come to him with a neutral heart, ready to hear his word of instruction and correction.
Remember, idolatry can be in our hearts, it is not limited to calling on a foreign God’s name. A form of idolatry is the reduction of God to a lower image. The root of idolatry is covetousness. Col3:5-6
Covetousness is the desire for gain; it is the state we find ourselves in when we are not contented negatively. Heb13:5
James1:14- We cannot be enticed by something we do not desire.
Those who walk in holy fear will obey when they sensed or don not sense God’s presence.
The Lord is drawn to those who walk in holy fear and empowers them to not only will, but to do his good pleasure.
The fear of the Lord is crucial and produces unconditional obedience in our hearts as well as actions.
It is only through the holy fear that we may experience intimacy.
